Call For Exhibits and Demos

The IEEE/IFIP IM 2013 symposium invites proposals for research prototype demonstrations and industrial exhibits. As a high-profile, leading edge forum for researchers and engineers in the field of network and service management, IM 2013 offers a unique opportunity to showcase applications, engage with a highly skilled and innovating audience and discuss emerging technologies and recent research prototypes with key researchers.

Demonstrations showcasing working systems, innovative applications, ground-breaking  ideas, and  novel concepts related to network and service management are welcome.  Demos from industrial researchers as well as demos from academia with a significant relevance to industry are particularly encouraged. Authors of papers presented in the IM 2013 conference and associated workshops are encouraged to show prototype implementations of the concepts presented in their paper(s). An award for the best student demo will be presented at the IM 2013 closing ceremony.

All patronage packages include the option to participate with an exhibition, a separate exhibition package is available and finally a non-commercial call for demonstrations is open as well:

Submission Guidelines for Exhibitions

Prospective exhibitors are requested to contact the IM 2013 Demo/Exhibits co-chairs to discuss arrangements as soon as possible, but not later than February 28th 2013. Whilst exhibits are expected to predominantly relate to products incorporating state-of-the-art network and service management related technologies it should be noted that non-technical exhibits, for example from specialist recruitment agencies or academic publishers, would also be of significant interest to conference delegates.

Submission Guidelines for Demos

Prospective contributors are expected to turn in a demo proposal in the form of a two page paper in IEEE conference double format, preferably incorporating a demo system architecture illustration. Demo papers will be peer-reviewed and accepted papers will be included in the electronic conference/workshops proceedings bundle provided to IM 2013 delegates and will be subsequently made available via IEEExplore. Demo papers should be submitted via JEMS by January 15th 2013; acceptance notifications will be sent no later than January 25th 2013 and camera ready versions should be uploaded via JEMS by January 31st 2013. The demo proposals will be reviewed by the IM 2013 Demo programme committee and will approved based on availability of demo space as well as on the following criteria:

  • Extent and significance of the research contribution
  • Potential impact on the audience
  • Quality of the proposed implementation
  • Presentation quality

At least one author of each accepted demo proposal is required to register for the IM 2013 main conference and present their demo at the scheduled demo session(s).

Important Dates

  • Submission deadline: January 15th, 2012
  • Acceptance notification: January 25th, 2013
